METHANE – a gas causing New Zealand major headaches as it tries to cut its emissions - should be treated differently from other greenhouse gases, scientists say.
Forty-three per cent of the country’s annual 80 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions is methane, and the Government is in the process of deciding whether methane should be part of its net-zero emissions target.
