PRIMARY INDUSTRIES contribute nearly two-thirds of the country’s greenhouse gases but account for less than 8 per cent of economic production, new figures show.
Statistics New Zealand has just released its first set of environmental accounts, developed in response to Treasury’s plan to include natural capital (the value of the country’s environment) in its next Investment Statement.
