El Nino and emissions are the reasons it's so hot

RECORD HOT temperatures over the past few years are down to the El Niño weather pattern releasing huge amounts of heat caused by greenhouse gas emissions, scientists say.
The years 2014, 2015 and 2016 are the hottest recorded, with average global surface temperatures rising 0.24deg in those three years alone, on top of the 0.9deg they increased between 1900 and 2013.
