Carbon breaks through $20 mark

New Zealand carbon is selling for more than $20 a tonne for the first time since March 2011 – and it’s expected to go higher.
Spot NZUs traded at $20.25 on the OMFinancial carbon platform CommTrade yesterday, a gain of $1.85 in the eight weeks since it was announced that New Zealand’s climate policy is now in the hands of Labour, New Zealand First and the Greens.
