UNDERSTANDING why farmers are not taking advantage of ways to make more money while cutting greenhouse gas emissions is critical to getting New Zealand’s emissions down, says a leading scientist.
Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Consortium deputy director Dr Andy Reisinger says that in some places, horticulture is more profitable than dairying, yet there isn’t a wholesale conversion of dairy farms into orchards.
