Road transport killing our clean-energy benefits

THE CLIMATE benefits of New Zealand’s increasing use of renewable electricity generation are being wiped out by our love affair with road transport.
On Friday, the Government released the country’s latest Greenhouse Gas Inventory, covering the period from 1990 to 2015, and it shows that emissions from road transport have climbed a whopping 77.9 per cent since 1990.
