World Bank presses NZ on climate refugees

THE WORLD BANK says New Zealand should accept more migrants from the Pacific to pre-empt a flood of climate refugees.
In a new paper looking at labour mobility in the Pacific, the bank says that the worsening impacts of climate change provide a “new moral imperative” for New Zealand and Australia to provide open access for Pacific peoples.
