SIMON UPTON’s nomination to be the next Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment has been confirmed by Parliament, but it wasn’t unanimous.
New Zealand First says Upton’s eligibility for the job falls at the first hurdle, because as a former National Party MP and cabinet minister, he could not be seen to be impartial.
