The Opportunities Party wants us carbon neutral by 2050

Pressure is mounting for New Zealand to make deep emissions cuts by the second half of the century, despite the country’s official target being to only halve emissions by 2050.
A report by London-based London consultancy Vivid Economics outlining "transformational pathways" for New Zealand to achieve domestic emissions neutrality in the second half of the century is expected to be out this month, and tonight the country’s newest political party, economist Gareth Morgan’s The Opportunities Party, will release what is likely to be a far-reaching climate policy.
