Environment law agents lack money to do their job

AGENCIES charged with enforcing New Zealand’s environmental laws don’t have the money to do the job, and often have conflicted interests.
That’s the finding of a new report by the Environmental Defence Society, released today, which examines the performance of environmental law enforcement agencies, including the Department of Conservation, the Ministry for the Environment, the Ministry of Primary Industries and local councils.
