Don't rush the ETS - Field

Independent MP Taito Phillip Field is unlikely to support the Government’s emissions trading scheme, telling Carbon News that he fears it could damage the economy and that he doesn’t believe it needs to be passed before the election.
While Field won’t make a final decision until he sees the select committee report next week, he says he doesn’t want New Zealand to go down the same path with climate change that it took with trade liberalisation in the 1980s.
