Forestry's role under the Emissions Trading Scheme would be reviewed under a National Government and agricultural emissions would not face a carbon price until other countries do the same.
It would also exclude agricultural methane from the country’s emissions budgets, make carbon-capture-and-storage eligible for carbon credits and would tell the Climate Change Commission to take into account what other countries are doing when advising on New Zealand’s emissions budgets.
