TAXPAYER-FUNDED carbon credits were worth $12.1 million last year to Tiwai Point aluminium smelter operator Pacific Aluminium.
The company – 80 per cent owned by Rio Tinto – is sitting on $21.5 million worth of credits, according to results released yesterday.
