THE Environment Select Committee has taken a bob each way on methane targets – recommending the Government’s target stay in place but that the Climate Change Commission should be able to change it.
The Government’s proposal to cut emissions of biogenic methane by 10 per cent by 2030 and between 24 per cent and 47 per cent by 2050 was the greatest point of contention in submissions to the committee on the zero-carbon bill.
