NEW ZEALAND agriculture can be carbon-neutral but it is slipping behind developments in Ireland, former Speaker, UK ambassador and agricultural scientist Sir Lockwood Smith says.
Describing himself as a life-long farmer, Smith – a Cabinet minister in Jim Bolger’s National Government and Speaker when John Key was the Prime Minister - returned to Parliament yesterday to give the Environment Select Committee his opinion on the Government’s zero-carbon bill.
