EDITORIAL: New UN report drops a bomb

A REPORT out today saying that global emissions are rising again because of economic growth should be the bomb needed to blast us out of our self-congratulatory complacency.

The United Nations’ Emissions Gap Report, released today in the lead-up to international climate talks in Poland, says that if current Paris Agreement commitments are met, the world will be 3deg warmer by the end of the century.
