NEW ZEALAND’S progress on cutting greenhouse gas emissions will come under international scrutiny at climate talks in Marrakech on Monday.
Information already submitted in support of the country’s second multilateral assessment shows the Government expects its policies to have avoided 5.329 million tonnes of emissions by 2020, with the Emissions Trading Scheme doing most of the heavy lifting.
