Brisbane aims to be centre for aviation biofuel

BRISBANE is set to become a hub for sustainable aviation fuel under an agreement between Virgin Australia and United States-based biofuel producer Gevo.

While, initially, Gevo will supply Brisbane with jet fuel from both its hydrocarbon plant in Texas and isonbutanol from its plant in Minnesota, the deal is expected to provide Queensland sugar farmers with a new market.
